Iota Beta

About Iota Beta

The EWU School of Social Work (SSW) established the Iota Beta Chapter of the Phi Alpha Honor Society for Social Work in 1999. The Chapter was revived by faculty, staff, and students in the spring of 2014. Iota Beta is the EWU chapter of Phi Alpha, a national non-profit organization that is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies. For more information on the national organization visit phialpha.org.

Our purpose is to recognize the academic achievement of undergraduate and graduate social work students. We also honor local practitioners and faculty who have made significant contributions to the field of social work. For a full description of our chapter’s purpose, see the Iota Beta Constitution (April 2019).
