Volunteering for Science Olympiad

What is Science Olympiad?

Science Olympiad tournaments are for 6-12th grade students who compete at regional and state levels throughout the country. Events encompass biology, earth science, chemistry, physics, computers, and technology; including Ornithology, Battery Buggy, Meterorology, Disease Detectives, Anatomy & Physiology, Fossils, Physics Lab, Compute This, and Wright Stuff - to name just a few. Watch a quick video to learn more.

Ultimately, winning students advance to the national level of competition. Eastern Washington University has been a host of these outstanding competitions since 1992. We are proud to be the Washington state tournament site for 2016. Competition will take place on the Eastern campus on Saturday, April 16th, 2016.

Why Volunteer?

We have approximately 200 jobs for volunteers that cover the fifty events. Our volunteers are key to running a successful competition. The reward for volunteering is the enriching experience of working with bright students involved with science ... as well as receiving a great shirt. Many of our volunteers return every tournament.

How to Volunteer

If you are interested in giving your time on April 16th, complete the Volunteer Form fully so that we can get you assigned. An event or building coordinator will contact you to finalize your volunteer activities.

Not available on April 16th? We also need help during the last 2 weeks before the tournament - putting packets together, other preparations, and checking in teams and event supervisors on Friday afternoon, April 15th. Note on the Volunteer Form days/times you would be available.

We're looking forward to a great tournament with your help!
