Join the EWU Department of Biology as we take our annual Darwin Day celebration virtual!
This year’s seminar will feature author and executive director of the Highlands Biological Station, James Costa. He is an evolutionary biologist, entomologist, and historian of science. In recent years, Jim’s research and writing have largely focused on Darwin, Wallace, and the history of evolutionary thinking. He has written several books on these topics and his seminar talk will include discussions from his latest book Darwin’s Backyard: How Small Experiments Led to a Big Theory.
Following the seminar, we will celebrate with a Darwinian themed cake competition. Those interested in participating in the completion will need to submit photos of your cake to BioOfficeStudent@ewu.edu by Sunday, February 7th. We will vote on cakes during the celebration and prizes will be given for out to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners!
The Seminar will be held from 2pm-3pm and the cake competition and celebration will be from 3pm-4pm. Join us on Zoom using the Meeting ID: 950 8890 5822.
