The Math Education Club (MEC) is an organization for anyone who is majoring in Math Education, Mathematics, inquiring a Math Major, in the Education program, involved with STEM, or just loves math. MEC provides a place for students to hang out, make friends, seek peer support on math-related homework, and provides opportunities to attend STEM-related activities.<\/p>\n

To promote mathematics, the National Pi Mu Epsilon Council sponsors an annual conference in conjunction with the Mathematics Association of America\u2019s annual MathFest. Traditionally, this conference occurs on the first weekend of August. Undergraduate members of Pi Mu Epsilon are encouraged to give a 15-minute presentation on a mathematical topic of interest. The content of the presentation does not have to include original research. Although some presentations may impart new results, the majority often show results of the exploration of a topic beyond what is traditionally covered in an undergraduate class.<\/p>\n
