There were over 400 kids that attended. The Chemistry group made slime and liquid nitrogen ice cream. Physics was in attendance as well.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><b>BEI Institute at EWU<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The Bilingual Educators Initiative (BEI)\u00a0is a high school teacher academy that recruits multilingual, underserved, and multicultural students to explore educational opportunities through the lens of the teaching profession. The program aims to diversify the educator workforce, close the opportunity gap, and diminish the teacher shortage by working with high school students (Recruiting Washington Teachers 2019-20 Annual Report, 2020). The Noyce Project and chemistry students helped with activities during a weeklong BEI Institute at EWU. High school students learned about social justice issues with science and made soap.
