Every gift to every athletic fund makes you an Eagle Athletic Fund member!

The Eagle Athletic Fund (EAF) is the fundraising arm of the Eastern Washington University Athletics Department. The EAF is the all-encompassing umbrella of athletics giving, donor and former student-athlete relations.

All gifts made to the following areas fall under the umbrella and mission of the Eagle Athletic Fund – which is to provide the resources necessary for the success of our student-athletes:

  • Sport excellence funds
  • Capital projects
  • Scholarships
  • Unrestricted funds
  • EKG Society

To qualify for annual benefits, such as tickets and parking, gifts must be made through seat contributions or the Eagle Athletic Greatness (EAG) Fund. Below are some of the ways you can invest in our student-athletes.

Areas of Giving

Annual Memberships

  • The annual giving program is the core of private support for Eastern Washington Athletics. Join the Eagle Athletic Fund (EAF) with an annual contribution of $50 ($4.17/month) or more.
  • Every gift to every athletic fund makes you an EAF member. However, only gifts made through seat contributions or to the Eagle Athletic Greatness Fund, qualify for annual benefits such as tickets and parking.

Capital Projects

Providing world-class facilities are important for fulfilling our commitment to current student-athletes to provide them with a transformational student-athlete experience to reach their full potential as a student and athlete. Enhancing facilities through philanthropic support not only unlocks the potential of our current student-athletes, but also showcases the commitment to intercollegiate athletics to prospective student-athletes.

Endowments

  • An endowed student-athlete scholarship provides a lasting stream of support to Eastern Washington Athletics. The endowed funds are held in perpetuity by the EWU Foundation – investing the principal and using a portion of the annual return to fund scholarship awards for student-athletes.
  • By endowing an athletic scholarship, you will create a lasting legacy of philanthropy with Eastern Athletics and address a priority in growing the university’s scholarship endowment.
  • Once the endowed scholarship is established – additional gifts can be made, thereby increasing the value and impact of your scholarship in future years.

Planned Gifts

  • By including Eastern Washington Athletics in your estate or financial plans, you will make a lasting difference and provide opportunities to future generations. You can plan a gift to benefit student-athletes today or after your lifetime, often with tax benefits for you.
  • Planned gifts to Eastern Athletics can be made through bequests, charitable trusts, gift annuities, life insurance, retirement accounts, real estate, and numerous other tax-wise tools.
Planned Giving

Eagle Gift-In-Kind

Individuals and businesses can contribute goods and/or services to EWU Athletics to help offset expenses.

This includes:

  • Advertising
  • Food/beverages
  • Apparel
  • Merchandise
  • Transportation
  • Courtesy cars
  • Hotel accommodations
  • Office Supplies
  • Electronics and more

These gifts are considered at fair market value and must be approved by the Eagle Athletic Fund for use as a tax deduction. Gift-In-Kind contributions are eligible for most Eagle Athletic Fund membership benefits.
