Alumni Legacy Scholarship Benefit

Your Eagle legacy can help open doors for the next generation.

If you’re an EWU alum with a student attending Eastern, they may be eligible for an Alumni Legacy Scholarship. Students simply indicate their alumni connection on the EWU Scholarship Application to be considered—no separate application required. While awards are not guaranteed, 24 Alumni Legacy Scholarships are currently awarded each year thanks to the support of the EWU Alumni Association and our alumni community.

It’s one more way we’re proud to celebrate the generations of Eagles who call Eastern home and help your EWU legacy live on.

Application Process

Ready to continue your Eagle legacy? Keep these important dates in mind for the 2026–27 scholarship cycle:

  • November 1: EWU Scholarship Application opens
  • February 1: EWU Priority Admissions deadline and Scholarship Application deadline
  • Late February: Scholarship review begins
  • Late April: Scholarship recipients are notified

Students only need to complete the EWU Scholarship Application and indicate their alumni connection to be considered for the Alumni Legacy Scholarship. No separate Legacy Scholarship application is required.

The Benefits of the Alumni Legacy Scholarship

Cultivating Tradition

Alumni Legacy Scholarships celebrate generations of Eagles while helping today’s students build their own connection to Eastern. By carrying forward the pride, traditions and experiences that unite our alumni community, each new generation becomes part of a legacy that continues long after graduation.

Building Community

Those who receive these scholarships often feel more proud and connected to their family's ties to the university.

Alumni Engagement

The Alumni Legacy Scholarship strengthens the lifelong connection between Eastern and its alumni by celebrating generations of Eagles and welcoming the next generation into the EWU community. It creates a meaningful bridge between past, present and future Eagles while carrying the Eastern legacy forward.

Student Impact

“As a Student, I have always strived to do my best and so far I believe it has shown through my academic achievements…this scholarship is important to me because it allows me to continue working towards my life goals and aspirations and will hopefully let me achieve my plans for the future.” – Ashley Ryan ’24
