Steve Blewett Student Internship Endowment

An internship can be a great way to gain experience, but taking an unpaid internship, relocating, or covering additional expenses isn’t always financially possible.

The Steve Blewett Student Internship Endowment may be able to help.

The endowment provides stipends to eligible EWU students pursuing internships in Public Relations, Communication Studies, and Journalism. Funding can help reduce financial barriers that might otherwise keep you from pursuing an internship, including expenses like housing, travel, or taking time away from a paying job.

Who is eligible?

Preference is given to students who:

• Are juniors or seniors majoring in Public Relations
• Are Communication Studies majors or Journalism minors
• Have at least a 3.0 GPA in major coursework
• Are pursuing a full-time internship, although part-time internships are also eligible
• Are completing an internship with an organization that does not typically pay student interns

You do not need to have your internship completely figured out before getting started. If you’re interested in an internship but aren’t sure where to look, the EWU Career Center can help you explore opportunities and navigate the process.
