Artist Statement

The mechanism for my artistic research and technical explorations of form is centered on the formal qualities of tools in and around my studio. These objects and the physical actions involved in making are inherent to my artistic practice. I simplify or exaggerate elements of these objects as a formal investigation that is the direct physical transfer of cerebral and emotional reverence. The vertical
lines, surface and scale reinforce their stability in the space in which they occupy. Appearing as monoliths, the sculptures are designed to create a sense of quietness and singularity.

Tall gray serrated metal sculpture mounted on stone-like base.

Two tall carved wooden sculptures on white pedestals in a white gallery corner.
