Welcome to Eastern Washington University's Dental Hygiene Clinic. The clinic is a self-support, non-profit facility operated by university faculty, staff and students. Quality care is provided by students with direct supervision from registered dental hygienists and licensed dentists.

Clinic Information

  • All clients are seen by appointment only.

  • The EWU Dental Hygiene Clinic can provide the following treatment:

    • examinations (head, neck and oral)

    • x-rays

    • scaling and polishing

    • fluoride and desensitizing treatments

    • sealants

    • smoothing and polishing of existing fillings

    •  placement of silver or tooth-colored fillings

    • whitening trays

  • New adult (18 and above) clients will need a diagnostic appointment first, which includes a set of x-rays and a dental exam.

  • Please plan on arriving 10 minutes early to fill out any paper work, update your health history or make any changes in address and phone number.

  • The EWU Dental Hygiene Clinic is a learning facility and treatment is completed slower than in a private dental office. Patients can expect to spend between 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours in the clinic for their appointment(s). The initial cleaning appointment may take one to four visits.

  • The EWU Dental Hygiene Clinic does not do any crowns, root canals, extractions, dentures or emergency treatment. If a service cannot be performed in our clinic, the supervising dentist will recommend a referral. Please inform your regular dentist of any referrals.

  • Please note; the EWU Dental Hygiene Clinic cannot replace your private practice dentist. The clinic does not provide the full scope of dental services, and has a limited number of appointments available.

  •  There is no guarantee all treatment needed for regular dental hygiene appointments or regular checkups can be provided.

Clinic Policies

  • Fees for services are to be paid on the day the treatment is started. We accept cash (nothing larger than a $20 bill please), check and VISA or MasterCard.

  • A strict cancellation policy is adhered to, due to student's clinical requirements. We require notice at least 24 hours before the dental appointment.

  • A parent or guardian is required to accompany all patients under the age of 18 for a minimum of 30 minutes at the beginning of the appointment to give written consent for treatment, and must be available by phone the remainder of the appointment.

  • As a courtesy, we submit insurance claims to DSHS and WDS on the patients behalf. However, the patient is ultimately responsible for any fees incurred.

  • The patient is responsible for providing all needed information and to advise the clinic when information has changed.

  • Patients referred from another dentist can have current x-rays emailed to:

Dental Clinic and Office Hours

Winter quarter starts January 4 and runs to March 14, 2016.

Clinic hours for winter quarter 2016:

Monday -9 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1 p.m.-5 p.m.
Tuesday -8 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1 p.m.-4 p.m.
Wednesday -9 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1 p.m.-4 p.m.
Thursday -No Clinic
Friday - 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1 p.m.-4 p.m.

Tuesday - 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Wednesday - 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Thursday -11 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Friday - 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
