MPH Students Take First Place!

February 6, 2018 By aking50

On November 7, 2017, Ryan Douse, Jessica R. Ochoa, Brendon Winston, and Dilli Gautam, Masters of Public Health Students, entered the EWU Eagle’s Nest Pitch Contest and took first place! The contest allowed them to pitch our innovative public health technology tool aimed at addressing the opioid crisis impacting our communities locally and nationally. As a team, they got the highest scores from the judges and ultimately won them over! This prelim win qualified them to compete in the “Shark Tank” final in May, for a share of $5,000 in prize money and the opportunity to find strategic partners for the development of their tool. Special thanks to Maryann Keogh-Hoss, Krista Loney, Frank Houghton, Olugbemiga Ekundayo, Roger Chase, David Gorton, Michael Ebinger, Nevens, Frontier Behavioral Health, and the Spokane Regional Health District!
