About

Chad Pritchard has worked on as a professional environmental and geotechnical geologist, as an environmental regulator for the State of Hawaii, the Spokane County Soil Survey, consulting on landslide mapping projects, as well as consulting on large-scale groundwater and geologic mapping projects in the Inland Northwest. As the PI for the PFAS Fate and Transport Study of the West Plains, WA and the Spokane River funded by the Department of Ecology, Chad worked with students and the community to map PFAS concentrations in groundwater and surface water across the region. He tries to share geologic information with the community through presentations, co-author of “Washington Rocks!” and a number of research papers on regional geology. Chad is a WA and ID Licensed Geologist (LG) with a WA specialty, Licensed Hydrogeologist (LHG). Dr. Pritchard is also an appointed member of the Washington State Board of Geologists, the Spokane County PFAS Task Force, Fairchild Air Force Base Restoration Advisor Board (RAB), sits on the Spokane County Housing and Community Development (HCDAC), and is an elected official with the City of Medical Lake Council. He is always interested in bringing community projects into the classroom and helping students work on meaningful research across disciplines.
