EWU Spokane Catalyst
Located on the south landing of the University District Gateway Bridge in Spokane, the Catalyst is home to several EWU programs.
The Catalyst building is now home to EWU Spokane.
The new Catalyst building, a joint project of Avista Development and McKinstry, provides Eastern students with modern, high tech-classrooms and immersive learning experiences.

Arts & Culture
Each year, the MFA in Creative Writing hosts Get Lit!, a week-long literary festival that brings a diverse lineup of authors to the area and highlights our local literary community.
Graduates from our Business and Professional Accounting programs go on to strengthen and vitalize Spokane's economy.
Our Occupational Therapy and RIDE programs open many opportunities for students to help people of all ages, from all communities.
Students from our Addiction Studies and Social Work programs are making a significant impact by helping people live healthier lives.
With technology-educated individuals in high demand, our Design and Computer Science and Electrical Engineering programs work with local companies in a real-world format.
Urban & Regional Planning
Our Urban and Regional Planning graduates are improving the quality of life in our neighborhoods, cities and rural areas by solving critical problems.
STA bus routes 12 Southside/Medical Shuttle and 90 Sprague stop in front of the Catalyst building. Routes 26 Lidgerwood, 28 Nevada, and 29 Spokane Community College stop in front of WSU Spokane — a short walk across the University District Gateway Bridge.
Route 6 goes from Cheney campus to WSU campus.

Hourly/Daily parking is available for purchase for the front lot. This lot is owned and monitored by REEF Parking. There is a sign with a QR code to download the Reef Mobile App for daily rates. If you have any issues with the app, call 509.755.7598.
Student parking permits are available to purchase from REEF Parking by submitting a request to firstname.lastname@example.org. You must provide your EWU Student ID # to receive the student discounted price shown below.
- Quarter permit – $250
- Semester permit – $375
- Monthly permit – $100
Day-time Hourly Rates
- 0-2 hours – $4
- 2-4 hours – $6
- 4-6 hours $10
- 6-8 hours $12
- 8-10 hours $15
Evening Permits and rates (5:00 pm to 12:00pm)
- Evening Quarter Permit – $195
- Evening Lot C – $5 (Flat rate for the evening)
- Evening Lot D – $3 (Flat rate for the evening)
Faculty and staff can work through EWU Parking Services to purchase an annual Catalyst parking permit.
Free parking is available on Sprague Ave. and side streets.
Metered parking is available on E Spokane Falls Blvd., and time-limited parking on N Riverpoint Blvd.
WSU Spokane parking lots have hourly and daily parking permits available to purchase from the kiosks located in designated lots. Quarter/semester and annual parking permits may also be purchased from the WSU Spokane Parking Office.
- From I-90 eastbound or westbound, take exit 281 toward US-2 E/US-395 N/Newport/Colville.
- Merge onto US-2 E/US-395 N/S Division St.
- Take a right on 3rd Ave.
- Turn left on Sherman Ave.
- Turn right on Sprague Ave. at the light.
- The Catalyst building is on the left at 601 E Riverside Ave., Spokane, WA 99202.
