Madrona Physical Therapy

Angela Maxwell
EWU Alum Seeking New Grad for Pelvic Health/Ortho Position at Women’s Health Clinic

Madrona Physical Therapy is a specialty practice focusing on the physical therapy needs of women and trans-women across the lifespan. The focus of our practice (about 85%) is pelvic health driven with our highest population as pregnancy or post-partum and the remainder of our practice is traditional orthopaedic disorders (15%) experienced by women.

We offer patients 1 hour treatments so they receive the one-on-one attention they deserve. We utilize the latest technology for treating pelvic health to include specialized pelvic tables, rehab-based ultrasound and sEMG biofeedback.

We offer fitness classes that are taught by physical therapists and serve special populations such as osteoporosis, pregnancy and post-partum. Therapists teach these small classes and provide an improved level of expertise over typical fitness trainers. These cash pay class offerings help us to diversify our payer mix, so even though we take insurance, we have alternative revenue streams.

We are a small clinic and dedicated to the health and work/life balance of our therapists. We offer a realistic work week for patient care that reduces burnout. We have paid charting and administrative time to help our therapists provide the best level of care to themselves and their patients. Retention and happiness for our therapists is a primary ingredient in our success at Madrona Physical Therapy.

Requirements include a Doctorate of Physical Therapy and license to practice physical therapy in Washington state, completion of, or a plan to, complete Herman and Wallace or APTA Academy of Pelvic Health Level 1 (or equivalent) prior to time of employment.

For new grads we offer structured mentoring via our experienced pelvic health therapists, continuing education of $1,500 per year, and loan repayment assistance.

If you find yourself intrigued by this opportunity, please give us a call!

People's Injury Network Northwest

Physical Therapist - 2 positions
https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/2980498502/?fbclid=IwAR3deeVqoCd5KoF1h-gGTkTdcnyoZNOabFJmlxJ2zj6JSufd-BoxKnUCEr8

The clinic I work at is looking for a new grad (or 2) to work in our clinic that specializes in Industrial Rehab. People’s Injury Network Northwest (PINN) is unique in that we only work with worker’s compensation, so we take clients from their initial injury, do regular OP PT, and then they enter Work Conditioning and Work Hardening. These are more like job specific strength and conditioning programs where we break down specific tasks, like the brick layers from Dr. Anton’s research. They look for newer grads because what we do is so unique, this was my first job out of PT school and I love it so far. There is actually a PINN clinic in Spokane Valley if you want to see what we do! The clinic in Kent is by far the largest but they have clinics all along the I-5 corridor.

-One of the biggest perks has been the $1500 annual allotment for CEUs and since it is part of a large organization, they also host classes so costs are lower and you can take more classes with the same amount of money.
-They also have an established mentorship program where senior therapists circulate through the various clinics each month and have one on ones with the newer therapists.
-I also work on an interdisciplinary team consisting of OTs, massage therapists, and hand therapists, so I am constantly learning from my team members.
-But above all, the patient population I have the privilege of working with are extremely hard working, motivated individuals, who have oftentimes suffered significant trauma. I teach my clients coping skills, diaphragmatic breathing, draw pain grids in the early stages of treatment and by the end, they’re back up on that ladder 30ft in the air carrying 60# ropes.

They are currently looking for 2 PTs and start dates are very flexible. My clinic director is extremely understanding. Please reach out to me if you are interested and I will personally connect you to our clinic director. Or even if you’re not interested but just have questions about negotiating a salary, what kind of questions you should expect to answer, good questions to ask, or anything like that, feel free to email me as well. EWU did an amazing job preparing me for this particular position and I would love to give back in this small way.

Best wishes on the rest of your clinicals! You guys have worked so hard and will soon become the PTs you always knew you could be. As we hopefully leave COVID behind, take this time to really think about the therapist you want to become as this job will forever shape the way I view our invaluable profession.
