For Instructors

Complete these steps to in order for your students to be successfully enrolled. If you have any questions during the process, please contact cihs@ewu.edu.

Guide New students in Completing Orientation

Student Orientation Video

If possible, show the new student orientation video in class. The first step in getting oriented to EWU in the High School as a student is to watch this video. It will take approximately 15 minutes. This is required.

Canvas Orientation

If students or parent(s)/guardian(s) would like more information, they’re welcome to review the Canvas orientation course for new students. Note: This is an open-enrollment Canvas course. You do not need EWU credentials to access the course. Please avoid using Microsoft Edge as the default browser when opening Canvas. This is optional if students have watched the orientation video.

Assist Students in Completing Application

How to Start the Application

New students must complete the application. Students who applied and earned credit for any classes in the 2022-2023 Academic School Year, DO NOT need to reapply. To prevent duplicate applications, please only submit one application per student. If possible, have your whole class do this at the same time.

  • Please advise your students to use a personal email, not their high school email address to apply—the high school firewall will block emails from us.
  • Students must create an account on the application page (select first time user).
  • When completing the application, students select EWU in the High School.
  • Please ensure correct spelling of emails and check spam or junk folder.

  • Once their account has been created, students must activate the application through email.
  • After the application is completed, students will receive an email with their eight-digit EWU ID number within three to five days to the email provided in the application.

Note: If students enter information incorrectly or if they don’t receive the email within one week, please contact our office at cihs@ewu.edu or 509.359.6187.

STOP. All new students must complete the online application before you can proceed to Step 3.

Complete Confirmation Roster Form

Fill out the confirmation roster to ensure legibility and accurate spellings of names and dates of birth.

Submit Your Roster

*All student applicants must be included on the roster in order for them to receive credit. Credit will not be given if the student is on the roster nor will credit be given retroactively after the deadline for rosters. Please ensure all student applicants are on your course confirmation roster and on EagleNet.

Note: Please refer to the email “Fall 2023 Registration Materials” for important attachments regarding student enrollment.

Submit All Documents

Send the confirmations roster form and all self-pay contracts (if applicable*) in one email to cihs@ewu.edu. Our office will start the registration process for your course only after we have received all the following necessary documents.

Once received and processed, a confirmation email will be sent prompting you to check EagleNET to verify accuracy of student names and that all students are included on your roster.

Verify Registration

Log into EagleNET each month to verify your course registration. If a student is missing or you have too many students, let us know as soon as possible so we can get it fixed!

NOTE: If this list is not verified or a student is not included on the list, the student will not be retroactively provided credit for the course.

Only continue to Step 6 if you need to add or drop a student from your course.

How to Add or Drop Students

Adding Students:

  1. If after checking EagleNet you notice a student missing from your roster, please submit a new confirmation roster and contact our office.

Dropping Students: 

  1. If you need to drop a student, please refer to the course registration materials provided by email and complete the Drop Form. To ensure there are no financial or academic repercussions for the student, please drop the student by the deadline provided on our Dates & Deadlines page.

Distribute End of Term Course Evaluation

When provided by our office, please share the link to course evaluations for students to complete.
