Learn about Centralized Academic Support: PLUS (Program Leading to University Success)

It's Not Too Late for Your Student to Get the Help They Need!

March 1, 2024

PLUS is housed in the JFK library.  We service both the Cheney and Spokane campus’ including quarter and semester programs. We are proud to have been serving EWU students for 32 years.

PLUS provides FREE academic support services in the form of Tutoring (small group, online e-Tutoring, Drop-In Tutoring and Virtual Reality Tutoring embedded in BIOL 230 series and CHEM 160, 170, 352 series small group tutoring).

We also provide study groups for quarter classes and semester programs in Spokane. Study Groups are faculty focused and are an extension of content in lecture. Academic Coaching is a mentoring type program that translates into how be a successful EWU Eagle. We go over topics such as time-management, note-taking, emotional wellness, and so much more. PLUS has started Accountability Study Squads led by our GSA’s this winter and plan to continue this service in the spring. PLUS is a peer-led program and is certified by the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) which is considered the gold-standard of academic support training for student employees.

As we move into the second half of the winter quarter, PLUS recommends having your student reach out via email plusstudent@ewu.edu or popping in and visit the PLUS desk in the library to get more information about current services for enrolled classes. Accountability Study Squad is a great new resource that provides guided goal setting and a quiet place to get an assignment done or study for a test with a guide to assist you in using your students’ time wisely. As your student registers for spring quarter, the request forms for tutoring and academic coaching will open on Friday, March 1.
