Alexander “Alex” F. Schilt, PhD, died earlier this month at 84 years of age.

Roper worked at Eastern for nearly 50 years.

The university is saddened to report the loss of Allen Guzman. Guzman, who worked for Instructional Technology & Web Services in Huston Hall, was hired in May of 2023 and died in February of 2025. We extend our condolences to his family, friends and colleagues at EWU.

Eastern Washington University has been notified of the death of retiree Martha (Marti) Brzoska on Feb. 27. She came to EWU in 1985 as a faculty member in the Art department and transitioned to an administrative position in 1988 as an academic advisor in General Undergraduate Advising.
