Welcome Week

First Week on Campus

What is Welcome Week? Kicked off by move-in day, Welcome Week is a series of events and activities designed just for you- our newest Eagle! You can expect to meet new faces, learn more about EWU, and understand what it means to be an Eagle. Our hope is that by the end of Welcome Week, you’re well-acquainted to campus and life here at EWU.

Welcome Week for Winter and Spring quarters are tied to that corresponding quarter’s Orientation.

Need a Hand?
Volunteers from all areas of campus help new students move into their residence halls.
Connections and Community
The purpose of Welcome Week is to help new students to build connections, both with their peers and EWU faculty and staff.
Pass Through the Pillars
A favorite EWU tradition, Pass Through the Pillars is a symbol of new students kicking off their Eagle career. Followed by a campus BBQ, this is a must-attend event!
Traditional EWU Photo
The new class poses for the traditional EWU photo on the iconic Red Inferno field.
In 2022, over 200 campus groups and community partners came to EWU to promote their services to students. The best part? So much free stuff!
Move In Day
President McMahan, along with other faculty and staff, look forward to welcoming the newest class of Eagles to campus every year!
