Automatic Scholarships

EWU offers automatic four-year renewable scholarships to new freshmen based on state of residency and high school GPA. Just select your residency type below, enter your GPA, and see what you could receive if you apply for EWU admission by March 1 for the following academic year! Awards for WUE state resident new freshmen may be available after February 1, but availability can’t be guaranteed.

Important Award Requirements:

  1. First time entering freshmen, fall term (no post high school college work).
  2. US citizen or eligible non-citizen.
  3. Cheney/Spokane EWU campus (state support) students.
  4. Apply for EWU Admission by March 1 (for the following academic year).

Not sure what type of resident you are?

  • Washington residents are students from Washington State who will be assessed resident tuition at EWU. For more information, visit our Residency page.
  • Non-Residents from WUE States are students who are residents of states that participate in the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE). This includes Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, CNMI, Guam, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming.
  • Non-Residents from non-WUE States are non-Washington resident students from a state outside of the WUE Program (listed above).
