Position Summary
The Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) at our Burien PSSC clinic provides exceptional,
culturally competent preventative dental care and oral health education to a diverse patient
population. Working in a collaborative, fast-paced community health environment alongside
dentists and dental assistants, you will play a critical role in expanding access to care and
improving long-term oral health outcomes for the Burien community.

Key Responsibilities
● Clinical Preventative Care: Perform thorough oral examinations, prophylaxis, scaling
and root planing, debridement, and apply topical fluorides.
● Diagnostics: Assess periodontal conditions and chart accurately within the electronic
health record (EHR) system.
● Patient Education: Provide individualized oral hygiene instruction, nutritional
counseling, and post-operative care education, utilizing interpreters or translation tools
when necessary to ensure clear patient understanding.
● Anesthesia & Treatment: Administer local anesthetic safely and effectively.
● Collaboration: Partner closely with clinic dentists to develop comprehensive periodontal
treatment plans and facilitate smooth patient handoffs.
● Compliance & Safety: Maintain strict adherence to safety and infection control
protocols (OSHA, WISHA, CDC, and Sea Mar clinical standards).
Qualifications & Requirements
● Licensure: Valid, unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Dental Hygienist in the
State of Washington (or eligible for licensure by start date).
● Certifications: Current BLS/CPR certification. Current endorsement to administer local
anesthesia and nitrous oxide is required.
● Community Focus: A strong commitment to working with underserved, low-income,
and culturally diverse populations.
● Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, a patient-first clinical approach, and the ability to
thrive in a team-based community health model.
● Language (Preferred): Bilingual English/Spanish or fluency in other languages spoken
in the Burien community is highly valued, though not required.
