Computer Science Scholarships

Undergraduate Opportunities

This scholarship was established to better the lives of students at EWU by providing support to students that excel in the CS department and giving them an opportunity to continue to advance their education, strengthen their communities and enhance their quality of life. Qualifying students must have declared a major in Computer Science, have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0, must demonstrate financial need and write an essay discussing his/her professional plans and aspirations and how receiving this scholarship would help him/her achieve these personal goals. Leadership and service contributions along with personal circumstances will also be considered. This award shall be used to provide an individual with half of full-time tuition and is renewable if they reapply for the award.

The Computer Science Alumni Endowment scholarship is intended for undergraduate students in the BS in Computer Science, the Bachelor of Computer Science, the BA in Computer Science, and Computer Information Systems. Candidates must be full-time students, with junior or senior status, with a departmental GPA of above 3.0 with preference to those with 3.5 or higher. The student must have passed the Advancement Programming Exam and CSCD 320 Algorithms. Apply through the University Financial Aid and Scholarship Office. CS Faculty are directly involved in making the decision on this scholarship.

There is a national shortage of cybersecurity professionals, and that shortage is compounded by the lack of diversity, equity, and inclusion of underrepresented populations. This scholarship was established as an effort to increase the recruitment and retention of underrepresented students studying Computer Science with a specialization in Cyber Security at Eastern Washington University. This fund will support declared Computer Science, majors, and all four years of study along with efforts to increase participation and research in the field of Computer Science.

This scholarship is for an undergraduate student in a Bachelor of Science degree program in the Department of Computer Science. A student must be at the sophomore, junior, or senior level, with demonstrated financial need. The student must have completed at least 45 credits at EWU and have obtained a 3.5 cumulative GPA for the most recent 45 credits attempted at EWU. Apply through the Financial Aid and Scholarship Office. The EWU Scholarship Selection Committee makes decisions on this scholarship according to the established criteria.

EWU has established this scholarship to increase the number of Women studying Computer Science degrees at EWU. This fund will support both incoming Pre-Computer Science

This fund will support both incoming Pre-Computer Science majors and declared Computer Science majors in all four years of study along with efforts to increase participation in research in the field of computer science.
