Application Deadlines for 2016-17
Students who complete the following applications by February 15, 2016 will receive priority consideration for EWU financial aid for the 2016-17 academic year:
- EWU Admissions Application - new/transfer/former students only, including undocumented and DACA students.
- EWU Scholarship Application - all students.
- FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) - U.S. citizens and eligible non-citizens.
- WASFA (Washington Application for Student Financial Aid) - undocumented and DACA students.
FAFSA's received after February 15th are still considered, but awards are made on a funds-available basis and late applicants may not receive all the aid for which they might otherwise qualify. No EWU Scholarship applications will be accepted after February 15th, but departmental scholarship applications may have later deadline dates.
New FAFSA Launch Date for 2017-2018
The federal government has changed the "launch" date for the 2017-2018 FAFSA from January 1, 2017 to October 1, 2016. This means you will be able to apply for the 2017-2018 academic year three months earlier than in the past! Additional details will be forthcoming throughout the next few months.
"SALT" Financial Literacy Tool
We strongly encourage all student loan borrowers to utilize www.saltmoney.org, a free service to all EWU students. With SALT, you can track and manage your federal student loans, learn of repayment options, budgeting techniques, and much more!
Cost of Attendance for 2016-2017
The estimated Cost of Attendance for 2016-2017 is available for your reference. These are the standard "base" amounts used to determine your financial aid eligibility and have been adjusted to reflect the fifteen percent tuition reduction approved by the Washington State Legislature for resident undergraduate students. Your final cost may vary. Additional details are available on the Cost of Attendance web page.
Net Price Calculator (Freshmen)
The EWU Net Price Calculator (Freshmen) provides estimated net price information (estimated cost of attendance minus estimated grant and scholarship aid) to prospective freshmen based on what similar students paid in a previous year. The calculator is currently undergoing update for the 2017-18 award cycle and will be refreshed shortly.
Net Price Calculator (Transfers)
The EWU Net Price Calculator (Transfers) provides estimated net price information (estimated cost of attendance minus estimated grant and scholarship aid) to prospective transfer students based on what similar students paid in a previous year. The calculator is currently undergoing update for the 2017-18 award cycle and will be refreshed shortly.
