Wifi

WiFi is available to all EWU students, faculty and staff on the Spokane campus, including WSU buildings. For instructions on how to connect to eduroam (our preferred wireless network), check out our knowledge base.

Printing

EWU students receive a $9 print credit, which is automatically loaded into your wepa account. Additional printing can be paid for by logging into your account using your EWU single sign-on.

Scanning

Scannx EScanning station is a free service, using your EWU single sign-on to scan documents to one of these places or devices:

Frequently Asked Questions

During an EWU term, the front entrance of the building will be open to accommodate classes Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m.–9 p.m. Students not in class must exit the building by 10 p.m. Outside of the term, the buildings open hours are set back to Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

The EWU Snow Line (359-7669) is the appropriate number for closures of the Catalyst building. If there’s anything specifically related to the Catalyst building versus the Cheney campus, that will be specified in the recording.

It is important to note that the Catalyst building is not a traditional campus setting. The area will be patrolled periodically during the day and evenings/nights by officers from a third-party security company, Securitas. An officer will be on duty in the evenings on weekdays from 3pm-11pm. Officers will wear standard uniforms, and their vehicles will be clearly marked to be easily identified. These officers are here for your safety. The on duty security officer in the evenings can be reached at 509.824.5458. The officer is available to escort individuals to their cars if parked in the parking lot.

For security issues outside of the Monday-Friday 3pm-11pm hours, please call property management’s call center (InfoCentre) at 855.936.2450. They are available 24/7.

A short walk over the bridge is the Fresh Plate Market on the WSU Health Sciences campus. Something Else Deli is just a couple blocks south of the Catalyst building on Sherman.

Cole’s Bakery and Cafe is located inside the Catalyst building in suite 110.

Other amenities offered at the Catalyst building are yet to be determined but are actively being considered.

Microwaves are available for student use on the first floor in CAT 305, Monday – Friday from 8am – 10pm.

Most of these services are still requiring an appointment.

While there will not be an open student computer lab, there is a laptop check-out station located in the third-floor lounge, along with wepa printers and scanners. There are classrooms equipped with computers for specific courses (similar to PAT 240 on the Cheney campus).

On-campus housing is not available at the Catalyst location. Students taking classes at the Catalyst may choose to live in Spokane or one of the many surrounding communities, including Cheney. Although EWU does not endorse specific off-campus housing vendors, students can utilize EWU’s off-campus housing portal to help aid in their search.

Hourly/Daily parking is available for purchase for the front lot. This lot is owned and monitored by REEF Parking. There is a sign with a QR code to download the Reef Mobile App for daily rates. If you have any issues with the app, call 509.755.7598.

Student parking permits are available to purchase from REEF Parking by submitting a request to spoadmin@reefparking.com. You must provide your EWU Student ID # to receive the student discounted price shown below.

Faculty and staff can work through EWU Parking Services to purchase an annual Catalyst parking permit.

Free parking is available on Sprague Ave. and side streets.

Metered parking is available on E Spokane Falls Blvd., and time-limited parking on N Riverpoint Blvd.

WSU Spokane parking lots have hourly and daily parking permits available to purchase from the kiosks located in designated lots. Quarter/semester and annual parking permits may also be purchased from the WSU Spokane Parking Office.

There are currently 6 routes that stop in front of the Catalyst building or across the University Gateway Bridge on Spokane Falls Boulevard.

o   STA route 12 drops off in front of the Catalyst building, and route 90 drops off just across the street on Sprague.

o   Spokane Falls Blvd (a short walk across the University Gateway Bridge) provides access to STA routes 6, 26, 28, and 29. Route 6 connects the University District to the Cheney campus.

As always, students can ride STA buses for free with their EagleCard.

STA Bus Schedules

The Wellness Room is located on the ground floor and is available for students, faculty, and staff. Drop ins are available during any free time shown on the schedule posted to the door. To discuss the option of reserving a repeating time, please reach out to the building admin at Catalyst@ewu.edu.

The Catalyst building is fully ADA-accessible and contains elevators. View the floor plans.

Students requesting accommodation must register with Student Accommodations and Support Services (CAT 101), who will work with faculty to coordinate their needs.

EWU students, staff, & faculty can use the Health Sciences Library, housed on the WSU Health Sciences campus, as community users, and may also apply for special Summit Visiting Patron privileges through WSU.

Yes. A fitness facility at the WSU Spokane campus in the Spokane Center for Clinical Research and Simulation (SCRS) building. Students who are enrolled in at least one class at the Catalyst building or WSU Spokane campus are eligible to utilize the facility with a prox-enabled ID card during the academic term that they are enrolled. In the center, you will find:

  • Cardio Machines
  • Weight Machines
  • Free Weights

To get access, you will need an activated prox-enabled ID card received after January 2020.  Please learn more about EagleCard Access at: inside.ewu.edu/eaglecard/.

In addition, participants will be required to sign a release form prior to use.

While there is very limited space for groups to utilize, EWU will work to accommodate as best as possible. Student clubs/orgs should submit their requests through EagleSync. Other groups can email their meeting details to catalyst@ewu.edu to discuss options.

Card requests are processed at the Cheney campus. The EagleCard Services office is located at 120 Tawanka Commons. If you have lost your EagleCard, you can request a replacement card through the EagleCard Services office. You should immediately contact EagleCard Services at 509.359.6184 to report your card as lost or stolen. Please visit the EagleCard Services website for other FAQs, business hours, and other general information.

Yes! It is located on the second floor in the east wing, at the end of the hall by classroom 219. All members of the EWU community are invited to take what they need. The pantry is restocked on Thursday’s.
