Current EWU Student Path

Pre-Nursing or Pre-Dental Hygiene Student Wanting to Pursue a BSHS Degree

Applicants must have the following:

  • Completion of prerequisite coursework for the EWU Pre-Nursing or Pre-Dental Hygiene major
  • Completion of all EWU BACRs and graduation requirements except Capstone
  • Completion of at least 120 quarter credits

To earn a BS degree in Health Science at Eastern Washington University (EWU), a minimum of 40 upper-division semester credits are required beyond 120 quarter credits and BACRs/University requirements. A minimum of 30 of the Health Science major credits must be earned from EWU.

Allied Healthcare Practitioner with a Qualified AAS Degree

Applicants must have the following requirements to be eligible for admission:

  • EWU accepts a block transfer of credits from qualified Associate degree programs with regional and or specialized accreditation
  • Successful completion of English 201 or its equivalent*
  • Successful completion of College Algebra or its equivalent*

To earn a BS degree in Health Science at Eastern Washington University (EWU), a minimum of 40 upper-division semester credits are required beyond the Associate Degree. A minimum of 30 of the Health Science major credits must be earned from EWU.

Certificate Path

Allied Healthcare Practitioner with Certificate and Work Experience or College-level Credits

Applicants must have the following requirements to be eligible for admission:

  • A DTA from Washington State community colleges fulfills all the Breadth Area Core Requirements (BACRs) for EWU
  • Successful completion of English 201 or its equivalent*
  • Successful completion of College Algebra or its equivalent*

AND/OR

  • EWU accepts either a portfolio demonstrating work experience beyond the student’s certificate

AND/OR

  • University level credits from regionally accredited community colleges and universities including AAS degrees not specific to a health profession discipline
  • Successful completion of English 201 or its equivalent*
  • Successful completion of College Algebra or its equivalent*
