Mathematics Tutoring Lab in Kingston Hall 337
The Mathematics Tutoring Lab - located in Kingston Hall 337 - is open during an academic year on Monday's, Tuesday's, Wednesday's, Thursday's from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Friday's from 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. To view the Mathematics Tutoring Lab Schedule & list of math courses a tutor is qualified to provide tutoring assistance click PDF, as follows: TUTORING LAB SCHEDULE. During the "Final Exams Week" June 11th - 15th, 2012 the Math Tutoring Lab will be open on Monday - Thursday from 8 a.m.- 5 p.m., and Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 12 p.m.
The Interim Tutoring Lab Director is Kelly Lynn who is a Lecturer of Mathematics lcoated in Kingston Hall Office 117B. The Tutoring Lab is staffed by Tutors who are undergraduate majors & graduate students with high academic standards in mathematics courses. Also, a tutor may be a future teacher or student who enjoys mathematics and assisting students in learning mathematics.
The wages of tutors who work in Math Tutoring Lab are funded by Course Fees assessed quarterly from students enrolled in the following courses at EWU: MATH 100, 101, 102, 103A/B, 104A/B, 105, 106, 114, 115, 161, 162, 163, 200, 211, 212, 380 and 385. Therefore, EWU students enrolled in the preceding math courses will have first priority to receive assistance from a tutor in the Mathematics Tutoring Lab. Note: The average math course fee assessed quarterly is $11.85 per student.
EWU students enrolled in a math course without an assessed course fee are welcome to study in the Mathematics Tutoring Lab (KGS 337) and may be assisted by a tutor, when possible.
To request a list of Private Tutors who work independently from the Department of Mathematics and may charge $15 - $50 per hour and please e-mail (math@ewu.edu) or call (509) 359-6225.
In addition to the Math Tutoring Lab, students enrolled in MATH 103A & B, MATH 104 A & B, MATH 105, MATH 114 or MATH 115 classes are encouraged to attend PLUS Group Session for their course. To view a schedule & learn about PLUS Group program click on the following link: PLUS GROUP SCHEDULE. When a student is unable to attend Math Tutoring Lab or their PLUS Group Session they should go to Academic Success Center in Monroe Hall 111 for an appointment with Mitchell Culver who will work to find them with a tutor.
